87? I'm not old yet at least I don't feel old and I'm 68.

Depends on the individual.  I've seen people in their 40's that look, act, and feel older than I do.  It's a state of mind as far as I'm concerned.  I know people who are in their late 70's and early 80's who are more active than I am - One of them just celebrated his 78th birthday - lives alone, never married, works 20-30 hours a week, undergoing chemo for bone marrow transplant, goes out multiple nights a week, dances, socializes ... I should be as energetic, and I'm 15 years younger than he is!

Old is anyone older than me. It moves up every year.

yep,see my reply up there? next year it'll be 57

We agree in principle but I think old is a little more than 56.

never trust anyone over 30.

Yeah that is what we used to say. Now I need to more than double that.

At what age?  NOT YET!

My father was 91 when he died, but still active and still involved in performing with his mandolin orchestra.  One night he was all dressed up and I asked where he was going.  He said, "I'm going to play for the old people at Llanfair House."  He was probably older than anyone at the home, but he didn't see it that way.

well .. i heard it said once that your 40's are the old age of your youth and your 50's are the youth of your old age .. but then i think rose is right . its a relative number to your own age .. if you're 40, 60, looks old but if you're 75, 60, looks young .. when i was younger i had a girlfriend who was 18 and she worked at a roy rogers , she was very pretty and built like dolly parton only they were real and one day she was tellin me this old hippie came in and made all kinds of cracks about how big her tits were .. so i asked an old hippie ?? how old was this old hippie ?/ about your age she said .. i was 21 .. true story .. kinda took me down a peg ..

According to a study from a few years back, anybody born before 1980 is officially "old".

As the study pointed out - To anybody born AFTER 1980:

John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison have ALWAYS been dead.

The Viet Nam War, the Moon Landing, Watergate, the Iranian Hostage Crisis, Women's Liberation and the Civil Rights Act have ALWAYS been "history".

MTV, CD's, the ability to record live TV, a color TV with cable in every room, remote controls, portable phones and the internet have ALWAYS been around.

Yep, I feel a little bit old just typing that.

Today's Birthdays: Jazz singer Jimmy Scott is 88. Actor Donald Sutherland is 78. Actress-singer Diahann Carroll is 78. Rock musician Spencer Davis is 71. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is 66.  Actress Lucie Arnaz is 62.
