What do you think about teachers? Are they paid appropriately?

I think it depends on the teacher.  I was taught by nuns who got a place to live and their meals.  I know of teachers in the school district my kids went to were paid fairly well, but surrounding counties paid better.  Some of the ones my kids had were seriously underpaid because they were dedicated to teaching students no matter what and yet others were horrible at what they did, yet all were paid the same.  However, many parents will have a lot more respect for what they do after the pandemic is over.

It depends on where they teach. I think more affluent communities pay better. Teachers in poorer communities probably have to work harder since they have fewer resources and are less likely to have parents who are involved with their children's education.

My daughter has been at it for over 30 years, but has her master's degree and has been out of the classroom and in administration for more than 15 years. She liked teaching, but knew she didn't want to do it forever, so moved on. She's in CA, so is well paid. Pay varies from state to state and district to district. Don't know what the pay is here in MT, but I'm sure its not much...pay here for anything is below average.

It definitely depends on the location. My daughter has been living quite nicely all this year on Illinois teacher's union pay....while sitting home doing nothing. Of course, she didn't sit home; she used that time to do her home rehab work. Two paychecks...one job. Sweet.
