Thanks to all who left me birthday greetings!  My computer got messed up on June and I have not been able to get back on the Bookoholics page until I finally got in today and got a new password so that I can come on again.  I was so fortunate to be able to go to Omaha the end of August to see and hear Louise Penny!!  She was a delightful lady, and the 4 of us who drove together over 100 miles felt it was well worth the travel and time.  There were many devoted fans there, and we all left feeling wonderful!

Just finished a book that serves as an update to Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged". It's called "The Frankenstein Candidate" by Vinay Kolhatkar and it summarizes well today's political/financial situation. And that's scary. VK could be channeling Rand. I got the ebook free on Amazon but it's worth buying.

From one of my favorite comic strips, Arlo N' Janis, both in bed, he reading a regular book and she an e-book.

Arlo says "A real book lover prizes the smell of a new book....And the feel and sound of the fresh pages....All you have are words"
