Am not going to recommend MRS. EVERYTHING yet. STarted it last night and there mucho graphic sexual scenes and I’m only a few chapters in. It’s a long book so maybe it’ll settle down.  Am not a prude but this was too much, too soon! I prefer to get on with the story!

I thought about becoming a psychiatrist or psychologist but never pursued it.  The mind and its troubles has long held and interest for me.  I spent some time visiting in psychiatric hospitals when I was younger.  It was interesting and also rather scary.

I haven't started anything else yet.  It will either be a Patricia Cornwell, Dr Scarpetta, novel I haven't rad yet or a thrIller, Forgotten Bones by Vivian Barz, that I downloaded to my Kindle app.

Yes, Joy, I, too enjoyed THE SILENT PATIENT.  Spent several years nursing in psych hospitals.

Am currently reading THREE THINGS ABOUT ELSIE  by Joanna Cannon who is a doctor specializing in psychiatry.

Next up is Jennifer Weiner’s MRS. EVERYTHING

I rarely come to this site, spending most of my time on Facebook.  But, I came to visit today.  Have anyone read The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelaides?  I just finished it last night and I really enjoyed it.

I have always been particularly drawn to that era in our history...from back in grade school. To find myself here in VA is kinda providential. I spend a lot of time studying the battles fought around me. I have sat in Robt. E. Lee's seat in his church. Kinda makes those characters come to life. Been to Gettysburg, too....a life long goal of mine. Yeah....I am a history geek.

Karin, our member "Apposite", is quite the history buff and specializes in the Civil War.

I've visited Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond several times.  Many Civil War stories there where Jefferson Davis and many others are buried.

I live in the middle of Civil War country, and have an extensive collection of books re that era.
