Traveling to the Poconos, from our home on Long Island, I often see these signs in Pennsylvania that say" BRIDGE MAY BE ICY". What's with the "may be" icy? Either it is or isn't. I don't want to have to guess. Why not at least say that it's a GOOD CHANCE BRIDGE IS ICY or VERY UNLIKELY BRIDGE IS ICY or NO CHANCE IN HELL THE BRIDGE IS ICY.
I don't like this indecisiveness crap. Do signs say MAYBE STOP or MAYBE CURVE AHEAD? Even a PROBABLY THE BRIDGE IS ICY still leaves some room for doubt. I want to be certain when I drive what the upcoming road condition is if indeed a sign is necessary. How about MAYBE THE NEXT EXIT IS A HALF MILE. Maybe it's not. MAYBE THERE IS ROAD CONSTRUCTION AHEAD Why the maybe? Doesn't someone know if there is work being done on the road. Am I supposed to guess? As for the bridges....I never even see a freaking bridge. An elevated road to me is not a bridge. Just MAYBE I'm mistaken.
