Old Route 66 goes right past my oldest daughter's house. We have taken a ride south from her place and enjoyed the historic places that have been preserved.....like an old gas station, and a roadhouse purportedly frequented by the Chicago mob.

Once when we passed that roadhouse, there happened to be about six vintage cars....circa 1930, parked out front. It was some antique car club.......but it looked like Al Capone himself had stopped by. I have pics of them.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the one-room jailhouse in town; that dates way back before Route 66 was ever built.
